They did not state that they wish to be sent away as levies. These four men were identified by Ing Asoong being four of his kidnapped companions, and the Procurador directed that they should be produced before him on the following day for examination.
On Tuesday I was present at the Office of the Procurador during the examination of the four men whose statements corroborated, in all its essential particulars, that made before me by Ing Asoong at Hughong on the 19th instant. Some Portuguese and Chinese in the employ of this Barraccon were also examined but they denied all knowledge of Ing Asoong. On the following day
